Laudare is all about poetry – in words and composition. The quartet, consisting of three
voices, guitar, bass, drums, and cello, is forging its own path, weaving through Post and
Progressive Rock, Metal, Folk, and Classical Music, yet never quite settling. Melody
intertwines with melody, giving birth to a new musical form. Delicate and fragile at times,
bold and daring at others – always carrying that bittersweet melancholia at its core, which
moves and hurts, making us feel both our lightest and darkest facets all at once.
The band from Leipzig was founded in 2017 by Daniel, Luise and Jakob and has been playing a vast of shows all over Germany and abroad. In 2018 it released its debut „d.é.o.m.é“ with founding-member Jakob (Ex-Amber, Yanos) playing the drums. The EP „Have Heart, Waste Flesh“ followed in 2020 featuring Jakob as well as Oliver (Wisent, Destillat), who displaced Jakob as he left the band in 2019.
Also, Almut enriches the line-up by the Cello and her beautiful voice ever since – captured on film and audio for the first time during the Jadeturm live Session in September 2022.
After some time of contemplation, songwriting and recording, a new album finally carved it‘s way to the surface. A „Requiem“ about the inevitable, that we fear so much and that makes us human after all.
„Requiem“ was joyfully released in October 2024 on vinyl and CD via Moment of Collapse Records and on tape via Breathe Plastic Records.
